Chris Wright ran away to live on the streets when his parents were killed only a few days apart. He had no family and didn't want to be left in the care of strangers. Three years later and now almost fourteen, Chris has discovered that he has the power to heal...and the power to harm.

A gang of thugs who call themselves 'Talon' want to use Chris and his powers, but he refuses to be used, by anyone. Unfortunately, the gang won't take no for an answer and has tried to force him to join them. He escaped, barely, but now he realizes that he has to either run and hide or leave town to get away from them. And that's when he meets a man named Judge Hawkes who offers him protection...for a price.

In return for a safe haven, the judge wants Chris to use his powers to fight the forces of evil. Chris is skeptical to say the least. But according to Judge Hawkes, the end of days is coming and Chris, and those like him, may be humanity's only hope of survival.

So now Chris had to make a choice. Run from Talon and spend his life looking over his shoulder, waiting for them to strike, or join the judge and his crazy plan to stop the Apocalypse. Time is short and he has to choose now.

Confronting the Fallen The Angelic Wars Book 1 eBook JJ Thompson

I was a little skeptical after reading the first Titan book ,which by the way was not half bad, just a little shallow. This story however is not only more sophisticated but actually deals with a rather complex young man that you can actually relate to

I highly recommend this one for an easy summer read

Confronting the Fallen The Angelic Wars Book 1 eBook JJ Thompson Reviews

This book is the type that would make me skip everything including sleep just to see it to the end. It's that good! I've read hundreds of fantasy/adventure genre novels but only a few of them possessed me in such a way that would make me shut away all other aspect of my life. It has the right balance of mystery, misery and action. I recommend this to all young adults who's into otherworldly adventures.
Thought it might be worth the read. It was worth my time. Enjoyed the story and think it might be a good ongoing storyline. Hope the next segment is as good as the first.
This book was very good, it started out with a scene that automatically captures your attention. I have read a lot of books, and this is one of the best.
Well I really liked this one. It's one of those stories where you expect a film to be made from it. Angels and demons, realistic characters and engaging plot, legendary battles. I'm waiting on book 2.
A young boy has strange powers; a mentor arrives to help him learn. Conflict erupts and the boy must step into his new world unprepared while bearing the hopes of his new friends. It's a pretty classic young adult novel and a good one at that. However the author's pacing and exposition feel rushed. The attempt to provide an ecumenical explanation of Armageddon and Angels defaults to the Christian mythology immediately as the Angel itself declares that it's what he's used to. And instead of growing into his role of importance, our protagonist is abruptly placed at the top. The only thing we're waiting for is the reveal of how Chris's darker experience is supposed to tempt him away from his angelic friends. But don't worry, he's a good soul.
This book started off in my opinion with a good start and really kept your interest all the way thru. my problem with this book is that it continued to keep me so interested I did not have enough time in my day with my normal schedules and routes change to continue reading it. This story line was written so well that it hurt to put it down. Between the drama and intimacy and action and plotting and battles, phew. Really good job. Can't wait till the next book.
When I reached 20% of the book I knew I made a mistake. I'm over 20 and this story was made perhaps for an audience much younger so I thought that maybe it could still have some moments but the story had no depth, no humor; dry or otherwise, all the characters were stereotypical or too good without much if any flaw. But I kept reading, and in the end what made me stop were all the mistakes in the story. One example is that they say to not mention the devil's name and then saying it immediately afterwards. Or when all the good guys immediately seem to like the main character for nothing more than a few exchanged words. In short, look elsewhere for a good book.
